Alexa Francolino, LCSW

Alexa is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, dually licensed in New Jersey and New York, with additional certification as a yoga and somatic educator. Her practice sits at the intersection of clinical therapy and embodied work, drawing on both to support clients who feel like talking alone has not been enough.

Most of the patterns that bring people to therapy live in the body before they live in words — the chest that tightens before a hard conversation, the breath that catches mid-sentence, the way grief shows up as exhaustion in the bones. Alexa’s work pays attention to what the body is doing alongside what is being said. The two together tend to move farther than either one alone.

Who Alexa works with

Alexa sees individuals, couples, and clients seeking wellness work. Common reasons clients reach out:

  • Anxiety, particularly the kind that lives in the body and resists pure cognitive work
  • Trauma and post-traumatic patterns — including events that don’t look like “capital-T trauma”
  • Perinatal experiences — fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, pregnancy loss
  • Burnout and chronic stress that has settled into the nervous system
  • Couples therapy with a body-aware lens
  • Clients who want yoga, meditation, or somatic practice work alongside or instead of clinical therapy

How Alexa works

Sessions are typically 50 minutes, online. The work is integrative and adjusts to what each client needs — some sessions are mostly verbal, some include body-based practices, breath work, or guided somatic awareness. Alexa is trained in both clinical therapy and embodied practice, and the two inform each other throughout the work.

For clients interested specifically in wellness sessions — one-on-one yoga, meditation, or somatic practice without the clinical-therapy frame — that is also available as a separate offering.
