Yoga, meditation, and somatics for the nervous system that doesn’t turn off.

Online wellness sessions led by Alexa Francolino, a certified yoga and somatic educator. Body-based practices that work alongside therapy — or stand on their own — for clients building a steadier relationship with their nervous systems.

A lot of what shows up in therapy — chronic anxiety, sleeplessness, the stuck feeling that words can’t reach — lives in the body. Talk therapy is powerful, but the nervous system has its own logic, and sometimes you need to work with the body directly to get unstuck.

Wellness sessions at The Therapy Lounge are led by Alexa, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and certified yoga and somatic educator. The work is gentle, individualized, and designed for real bodies in real lives — not the stretch-pretzel version of yoga you might be picturing.

What sessions look like

  • Online and one-on-one. Sessions happen through video, in your own space, with a setup adjusted to whatever you have available.
  • 50 minutes. Same length as therapy sessions, by design. Easy to slot into a regular rhythm.
  • Tailored, not pre-set. Each session is built around what your body and nervous system are doing that week. Some sessions are mostly movement. Some are mostly stillness. Some are body-mapping or breath work.
  • No experience required. If you have never done yoga or meditation before, that is fine. If you are a long-time practitioner, that is fine too.

What this is good for

Chronic stress and burnout

For people whose nervous systems have been in “on” mode for so long they forget what “off” feels like.

Anxiety that lives in the body

Tight chest, shallow breath, restless legs, jaw tension — the somatic side of anxiety that talking about doesn’t resolve.

Trauma recovery (alongside therapy)

Somatic practices are well-established as an adjunct to trauma therapy. The body learned the trauma; the body has to be part of unlearning it.

Building a sustainable practice

For people who keep meaning to start a yoga or meditation practice and want one-on-one support to actually build it.

Wellness sessions are not therapy. They are body-based practice work. Many clients do both — therapy with one of our clinicians and wellness sessions with Alexa. Others do just one or the other.

Frequently asked questions

  • Is this therapy?

No. Wellness sessions are body-based practice work — yoga, meditation, somatic education. They can complement therapy beautifully, but they are not the same thing and are not a substitute for clinical care.

  • Do I need to be flexible or experienced?

No. Sessions are individualized for the body and the practice level you are bringing. Some sessions involve very little movement at all.

  • Can I do wellness sessions and therapy with the same person?

Alexa offers both clinical therapy and wellness work, but typically not for the same client at the same time, to keep the boundaries of each clear. We will help you figure out the right structure on the consult.

  • What equipment do I need?

Most sessions need only a quiet space and enough room to lie down comfortably. Some sessions use a yoga mat, a chair, or a wall. We will tell you what to set up before each session.

  • How much do wellness sessions cost?

Pricing varies depending on session format (one-on-one vs. group offerings). Wellness sessions are self-pay and not insurance-eligible. Reach out for current pricing.
